You can’t ignore it. Every headline, TV newsflash, and cover story are saturated with the upcoming elections. Amid all of this noise where is your story? Where is the true voice of our generation? We must be heard! We must build a movement to match the scale of our greatest challenge, global warming.
This is our moment. Scientists tell us that the leadership in the next couple of years will decide the future of our climate system and the fate of millions of people. The elections this Fall provide a unique window of opportunity. Never doubt that you are living in a truly historic moment and that what you do today will impact generations to come. This is it! We are called by our conscience to seize this historic moment and act. “Our generation needs a brand new vision for our future. This is our chance to elevate climate and clean, just energy as a national issue, and build a truly massive movement. This is our chance to retake our democracy from the dirty energy corporate interests and return it to the public interest. This is the moment when we capture the nation’s imagination with our historic vote, direct actions, and hope for a better world. It has to be now. We must seize this historic opportunity when Americans can turn away from petty discussions of Brittany Spears and start questioning the fundamental direction of our nation. We must be a part of that conversation! In fact, we should be a part of thousands of conversations. We will engage our peers in a new and inspirational dialogue. This is our chance to grow; to double the size of our campus groups, quadruple our campus communication networks, empower dozens of new group leaders, and build new diverse coalitions of organizations.
The tide is turning. Our generation is turning out to the polls in record numbers to cast our ballots on jobs, health care, and the war. In our conversations we must voice the undeniable relationship between our energy choices and these issues to build a powerful youth voting bloc of a million strong. Elected officials will have to listen to us if they want to see another term in office. And once they are elected you can guarantee that we aren’t going anywhere. We will be there to hold them accountable and demand that the new President and Congress take bold action within the first 100 days to end the climate crisis. Anything less is an insult to our generation. We are the ones we are waiting for. Now let’s make it happen.

Free Live Music this Summer
This summer get into music tours for FREE. To succeed in the Fall we must start having conversations over the summer. Energy Action Coalition is teaming up with REVERB’s summer concert tours to spread the PowerVote message. Want to help volunteer to table at these shows and get in for FREE?!

Training Mega Camp
On August 13-17 Energy Action Coalition and our partner organizations will be hosting a MEGA Camp, a large-scale training program to equip youth leaders with the skills and resources necessary to run a large scale Power Vote field campaign. The goal is to bring innovative strategies to the grassroots and to train a powerhouse team of organizers prepared to train thousands more young people, building an unstoppable ground force this November and beyond.
