There are many ways you can show your support for climate action by donating to the Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN). CCAN is a 501(c)3 organization and donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by the IRS, EIN 11-3644283. Become a Monthly Donor
Spread out your giving throughout the year by setting up a monthly gift. When you choose to donate monthly, you are providing CCAN with stability and helping our team to plan long-term. Here is how your monthly donation can help:
- $5.00 – Provides our team and volunteers with the materials they need to run a successful tabling event to recruit new members.
- $12.00 – Provides us with resources to conduct a community art build ahead of in-person actions, rallies, and press conferences.
- $25.00 – Provides us with the resources to coordinate 3 in-district meetings for constituents with their representatives.
- $50.00 – Allows our team to host a statewide virtual training.
Donate by Check
One tried and true way to make a gift to CCAN is by mailing a check to our office in Takoma Park. All checks can be made out to “CCAN” and mailed to Chesapeake Climate Action Network at P.O. Box 11138 Takoma Park, MD 20913.
If you would like your gift to go towards your Action Membership, please write “Action Membership” on the memo line.
Planned Giving
Trust us with your climate legacy. When planning your estate, including a charitable gift to Chesapeake Climate Action Network is a way to support climate action for years to come. Even 1% can make a real difference. To do so, designate CCAN as a beneficiary in your will, trust, retirement plans, or other financial accounts. These gifts provide lasting support for climate action and future generations.

Polar Bear Plunge
Join us in February! Every winter for the past 22 years Chesapeake Climate Action Network and our supporters have come together to take the Polar Bear Plunge to “Keep Winter Cold.” Year after year this event continues to grow with hundreds of participants. Climate Ride
Take a weekend to pedal for the climate and be a part of creating a positive impact. You can participate in Climate Ride events throughout the year and across the globe. When you sign up for a Climate Ride, you are committing to fundraise from your peers and can choose to designate Chesapeake Climate Action Network as your chosen nonprofit for the funds you raise to be sent to. Tribute Gifts
Honor or memorial giving is a way to celebrate an important life event or to provide a lasting tribute to a loved one. If you are interested in honoring a loved one, please email our team at fundraising@chesapeakeclimate.org. We also have in “In Honor of” field on our donation page here.
Benefit Events and Third-Party Fundraising
An increasingly popular way of giving by individuals, groups, businesses, and organizations is through third-party fundraising. Some examples include benefit concerts, yoga lessons, comedy shows, and “hosting” fundraisers for CCAN on birthdays and weddings.
You can also support CCAN by organizing a third-party fundraiser at a local business. Several businesses have generated generous support for CCAN by contributing a portion of their profits. Secure a Matching Gift from your Employer
