The campaign for offshore wind power in Virginia has launched into the fall season full-steam, and with a backdrop of beautiful weather and some highly contested elections in Hampton Roads, our volunteers got out there and made a big splash over the last few weeks!

From the Boardwalk Weekend at the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival to the State Fair the Richmond Folk Festival, CCANers have been spreading the word about Virginia’s offshore wind opportunity and signing hundreds of Virginians on to our petition asking Dominion to invest in harnessing our best clean energy resource.
Our volunteers have helped us get creative with where we take our petitions! Whether at an ODU football game or a Newport News candidate forum, on campus at VCU or CNU, or at Occupy rallies, we’ve brought our message and have brought our coalition for offshore wind closer to our goal of 10,000 petitions to Dominion. Even on Election Day, we visited polling places with pinwheels and postcards to highlight an issue that we’ll prioritize during the next legislative session.
